Scaling Operations in a Fast-Growing Business - 3 Key Success Factors

Hey Makerpader's,

I published this article yesterday, and wanted to share here. I know that many of you work with business and operations leaders directly, as either colleagues or customers.

The goal is to help business leaders scaleย internal operations in the face of rapid growth. I've personally watched companies implode (๐Ÿ’€ ), because they couldn't scale their operations to keep up with the massive volume influx. Many of you have probably seen this yourselvesย

So, the idea here is to catch forward-thinking business leaders before rapid growth totally breaks down the ship, and give them some basic guidelines for preparing their ops to scale with โ€“ you guessed it โ€“ no-code automation ๐Ÿ˜‰ย

Have a skim-through, let me know your feedback (โค๏ธ transparent, direct feedback), and please share with whomever you think would find this valuable.

Happy Friday,

Automate an operations process in 3 steps ๐Ÿฆถ๐Ÿฆถ๐Ÿฆถ

Hey Makerpader's,

This post was published last Friday, but I thought I would share it here as well.

Got some great feedback on my automation playbook. Specifically: "I don't have time to read a 71-page playbook!"

Fair enough!

So I decided to condense the format, and republish some of the most important lessons in the playbook as blog posts.

This article is aimed at those who are totally sold on no-code automation and the benefits, but just a hand with taking the first steps and actually getting started. So, here I've provided a "how-to automate a process in 3 quick steps", which can be done โ€“ literally โ€“ in the course of a single afternoon.

Have a read, let me know your feedback, and as usual: sharing is caring ๐Ÿ˜‰

Operations Automation 101: What Is It and When Do I Need It?

Hey Makerpader's,

As I mentioned on my previous post, I write a blog that talks about business, operations, automation, and no-code.

I generally try to keep things informative and useful, rather than salesy. If there's no opposition to it, I'll post the articles here weekly. Feel free to link, quote, and share whenever you like. Of course, I love and appreciate feedback of any kind.

๐Ÿ‘‰ ALSO, if you would like to contribute content to the blog, drop me a DM! I am always excited to do guest featured posts ๐Ÿ“

This last week's article was basically a 101 guide to the buzz around no-code operations automation. It's the first in a series of articles designed to get people excited about what can be accomplished with no-code automation.

๐Ÿ“• Operations Automation Playbook ๐Ÿš€ (71-page guide to no-code automation)

Really proud to have polished this one off last month! It's a step-by-step guide for no-code automation newbies, written for non-technical, business users. Includes frameworks, how to build a no-code process MVP, how to evaluate, and a lot more!

Full disclosure: in the "building automation" section, we use Next Matter (my no-code product) as the how-to example. However, the same principles could be applied to other no-code tools.

I'm happy to share the un-gated version here for the Makerpad community. Feel free to use, reference, and share:

If you DO wish to share more broadly on social, could you do me a steady and share the gated version here? That way, we can can keep the conversation going with downloaders outside the Makerpad community:ย

I hope you enjoy, and please do provide feedback! ๐Ÿ™

Hey all! I'm Luke Walker from Berlin, and no-coder @ Next Matter

Hello Makerpad folks!,

I'm Luke Walker, product marketing guy and no-code apologist ๐Ÿ‘‰ย  connect with me on LinkedIn ๐Ÿ™‚ย

๐ŸŒย  I'm originally from Flint, MI but I've lived in Berlin, Germany for the past several years and that's now my home base. I've also lived in Boston, Minneapolis, and Dublin, IE.

๐Ÿ’ผย  My professional background is in marketing, kind of a "full-stack" marketer if you will. Although my first office job was in the operations department (more on that later).

๐Ÿ“ I came into no-code by way of digital marketing (Zapier, Hubspot, workflow automation, etc), but now I lead product marketing at Next Matter, a no-code workflow automation tool designed for operations, my professional life revolves around helping ops teams get rid their clunky, email and spreadsheet driven processes, and replace them with automated workflows.

Although I do have a horse ๐ŸŽ in the race, I am also always looking to connect with no-code tool developers, marketers, and builders. It's a super exciting time to be a part of the no-code scene โ€“ in whatever capacity.

๐Ÿ† my "big achievement" project of late was publishing this 71-page no-code automation playbook ๐Ÿ“• We are currently using as a gated lead-gen tool on our website, but I'm linking the un-gated version here for the community just to have. In it, you'll find A LOT of useful stuff, templates, automation pilot review framework, etc. Feel free to use, reference, and share!ย

Outside of work, I'm a musician ๐ŸŽธ a rock climber ๐Ÿง—โ€โ™‚๏ธย  and a greyhound dad ๐Ÿฆฎ.. I'm super interested in history, literature, and David Bowie.ย

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ What am I looking to do next?ย Next Matter has just "officially" opened shop in USA, and we are looking to onboard our first class of USA operations teams. This is NOT a sales pitch, but if anyone knows an operations team or lead in need of a solid no-code workflow tool, please do feel free to pass on the recommendation.

๐Ÿค— Is there anything the community can help you with?ย In alignment with the above, I would love to get community feedback on Next Matter, how we can grow and improve our product experience in USA, and โ€“ also vital โ€“ how Next Matter can help anyone in the community with automating a cumbersome, manual process.

๐Ÿ‘‹ย  How I can help you?ย I have 10 years of experience in product marketing and growth marketing. If you need any insight or feedback on positioning, strategy, testing, conversion, do not hesitate to DM. Happy to help!
